Advantages of TPE Caster Material and PVC

Generally, the common TPE rubber-coated caster material used by us has better wear resistance than TPU material because TPE caster material itself has skid resistance. However, as the load-bearing requirement of TPE caster material increases, appropriate sliding agent is added to TPE caster material to improve the smoothness of its surface and reduce the surface friction coefficient of TPE caster material, thus reducing friction heat generation and increasing friction loss. What are the specific advantages of wear-resistant TPE caster materials?
I. Bearing Capacity
The load-bearing capacity of TPE materials is generally not very high. At present, the maximum load-bearing capacity of TPE used as external coating in the domestic market is 300kg. Because TPE material itself is relatively soft and not high in rigidity, and is formed by bonding with the framework, great heat will be generated during load movement to accelerate the deformation of the material, thus causing the caster framework and rubber to fall off or crack, and the bearing capacity of the caster material can reach up to 300kg.
Second, the selection methods of TPE materials with different skeletons are different
The framework of casters is generally PP, reinforced PP, nylon, etc. Casters with lower load usually use PP as the framework, and some low-end materials even use recycled PP as the framework. This kind of framework is brittle, and some other materials are mixed or degraded at the same time, so the binding performance of TPE is required to be higher. If it is reinforced PP, glass fiber is usually added to reinforce it, so there are higher requirements on the bonding performance of the material. The common original package PP generally uses homopolymerized TPE caster material.
III. Wear Resistance
Ordinary TPE materials have better wear resistance than other materials because of their skid resistance. However, as the load-bearing requirements of TPE materials for casters increase, TPE medical caster materials will be added with appropriate slip agents to improve surface smoothness, reduce the surface friction coefficient of the materials and thus reduce friction heat generation and friction loss.
What are the advantages of TPE
Replacing PVC with TPE casters is an inevitable trend. Because PVC is not environmentally friendly, more and more countries, especially Europe and the United States, explicitly prohibit the use of PVC casters, so exported caster processing plants have to face this reality. Of course, people may choose TPU, but the inherent defects of TPU casters make more manufacturers more inclined to TPE. With the maturity of TPE technology, people will know more and more about TPE casters and use them more and more widely.
