How do you understand food grade TPE.TPR raw materials, do you really understand

Regarding food grade TPE and TPR, my three opinions are:
1.TPE,TPR is relatively environment-friendly and nontoxic. Some marketers simply introduced the concept of food-grade TPE,TPR.
Food grade TPE,TPR is a general concept. Specifically, it refers to food contact TPE materials.
For the testing of TPE and TPR food contact materials, I think the standards are somewhat confusing.
U.S. FDA is a bit broad-brush and thinks that all TPE and TPR materials must pass FDA 21CFR 177.2600. I think this is somewhat arbitrary. For example, TPE is used to make a kitchen utensils handle, you have to use 177.2600 to test, it is not appropriate.
At present, the national standard is like this, which corresponds to different testing standards according to the specific application products of food-grade TPE and TPR. For example, for ordinary food packaging and kitchenware products, GB4806-6 or GB4806-7 can be used as the test standard, while TPE and TPR for pacifiers must conform to GB4806-2. Of course, unfortunately, TPE and TPR basically cannot pass the test because normal hexane test is required.
TPE is generally not used as the main packaging material when it is applied to packaging that needs to be exposed to grease and beverages, but can be used as auxiliary materials for bottle caps and coasters at most. Because of these products, many need to be tested with olive oil and n-hexane, which are the short boards of TPE. It is said that TPE with hardness higher than 70A may pass the tests of olive oil and n-hexane, while a few TPE manufacturers even issued 177.2600 test reports. To this, we can only keep saying that anything is possible.
The EU's test rules also tend to be national standards.
One thing to add: some questions about food-grade testing
If you use test pieces, you may not pass, but if you use finished products, you may pass. Because only the test piece is tested, there are more materials and more soluble substances, while the test with finished products may have less soluble substances according to different products.
In short, food-grade TPE is a relatively general concept. TPE materials should be selected according to product application and corresponding testing requirements, or whether TPE is applicable should be determined.
