There are many physical parameters of TPE. Hardness is a very important physical parameter of TPE thermoplastic elastomer and other materials. When a salesman receives a customer sample or a new product sample, it is very important for him to know the hardness of the customer sample TPE material in time and accurately, which is of great significance for engineering to accurately recommend the brand. Under normal circumstances, the hardness value of materials provided by customers can be used as a reference for material selection, but it is better for customers to provide samples or sample materials so that engineers can accurately test the hardness of materials. In some cases, customers may be new products, and their grasp of hardness may not be accurate. When testing hardness, experienced engineers generally measure the position where the sample plate is thicker in size and has a relatively flat surface, so that the measurement result is more accurate, and the sample plate is thinner or the surface is uneven, so that more accurate hardness measurement cannot be carried out. If the user has sent the sample material, it is best to make the sample into a flat test piece with a thickness of about 3mm, and then make the measurement, and the test result is more accurate. If the customer does not have a sample on hand, only the hardness value can be provided, and its hardness unit needs to be confirmed. Shao's hardness A and D are of the same degree and differ greatly in hardness. TPE materials with general hardness of 10~95A are usually measured by Shore A durometer. The hardness is higher than 95A, and the Shore A hardness tester becomes less sensitive. Generally, Shore D hardness tester is used. Hardness less than 10A, measured by Shore C(OO) durometer. The top of the Shore D durometer pressing needle is sharp needle-shaped, while the Shore A durometer pressing needle is blunt, and the Shore C durometer pressing needle is spherical crown arc-shaped. Attention should be paid to the hardness reading time when testing. When testing the hardness of materials, try to use the degree of delay. Generally, the stress relaxation (yield) and creep will occur when the thermoplastic elastomer TPE is stressed. When reading the value, it is usually read after the material is stressed for 5~10 seconds (the material is pressed by the Shore Hardness Tester pressing needle). The reading time of TPE with soft hardness is slightly longer.
