Introduction of TPR raw materials:
TPR soft adhesive is widely used in toy industry. In the application field of toy, which is a traditional soft material, TPR material is winning more favor and trust from consumers by virtue of its better environmental protection, safety and non-toxicity characteristics.
Each industry has its own corresponding standards, and as far as the toy industry is concerned, there are also its own special industry standards. Moreover, different toy products have different requirements on the physical and processing properties of TPR soft adhesive.
TPR Thermoplastic Elastomer Properties;
1. Color: highly transparent, semi-transparent, white and black.
2. Environmental protection, halogen-free, nontoxic and tasteless.
3. Pass the test: ROHS, FDA, PAHs.
4. Easy to process and color. The leftover materials can be 100% recycled.
6, can be adjusted at will, in 60-135 degrees long-term use temperature.
7, bright surface, fog surface can be, smooth appearance, comfortable soft texture. It does not contain moisture and can be directly used without drying, thus saving energy.
8. Shock absorption, skid resistance, abrasion resistance, ultraviolet resistance, chemical resistance, yellow resistance, aging resistance, dynamic fatigue resistance, ozone resistance and weather resistance.
9. It can be molded by secondary injection molding, coated and bonded with PS, ABS, PC, PP, PE, PA, etc. or formed separately. Replacing part of soft PVC silicone rubber.
TPR's Five Major Performances:
1. Excellent color matching performance.
Soft rubber toy products are mostly of bright and varied colors, and have higher requirements for color matching of TPR materials. A qualified TPR brand should have good color pink agent diffusion performance and be conducive to better coloring of toner, so as to achieve the color matching effect of bright color and uniform color as far as possible!
2. Good screen printing performance of oil spray painting
Most toy products have the requirements of spray painting and silk screen printing. In order to obtain good screen printing effect (paint does not fall off when sprayed), the matching of TPR compound and ink paint is very important, and appropriate paint ink should be selected according to the characteristics of TPR.
3. Cracking resistance of soft toys
For some soft toys with very soft hardness, appropriate TPR materials should be selected to prevent cracking after processing. In addition, through optimization and perfection of molding process, cracking caused by stress shrinkage can be reduced!
4. Environmental protection performance
Although most TPR materials meet ROHS and EN71-3 testing standards for environmental protection, the testing standards for toy products are still different in different countries or regions. Some requirements do not contain PAHs, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, NP (nonylphenol), etc., and some requirements do not contain SVHC substances of high concern specified by REACH. This requires full consideration of the environmental protection requirements when mixing TPR compound!
5. Other requirements
Some toy products have high requirements for stretch and tear resistance, others have good requirements for resilience, etc. In short, the most suitable TPR materials shall be provided according to the specific requirements of the customers.
With regard to material hardness, TPR can provide a choice of materials in the hardness range of 0-100A.
Regarding the processing of TPR, injection molding and extrusion are still the main methods at present. Special TPR materials can be blow molded.
