Characteristics and Processing Methods of TPE Raw Materials for Toy Wheel Skins

Toy wheel skin materials commonly used are TPE(SEBS substrate) and TPR(SBS substrate). Because TPR raw materials are easy to crack under stress and have short service life, most of the toy wheel leather materials are thermoplastic elastomer TPE under the condition of no glue water injection requirement!
TPE toy wheel leather is molded by injection molding. The injection molding temperature is usually 160~190℃, and it is usually automatic (blowing). Multiple molds are produced in one mold, so there are certain requirements on the performance of the material. Generally, materials are required to form quickly, not stick to the mold, rebound is better, deformation is not easy, and the price is low.
The basic properties of TPE toy wheel leather are as follows: hardness is usually 45~90A, specific gravity is usually 1.0~1.18, tensile strength ≥3 MPa, elongation ≥400. Uniform grain cutting, stable material properties and easy injection molding.
During processing, process parameters shall be adjusted according to material characteristics. Common problems and treatment methods are as follows:
1. Deformation of rear wheel skin after mold removal: At this time, the injection temperature should be reduced, the cooling time should be increased, and the mold adhesion of the material should be improved.
2. It is not easy to demould if there is a single wheel skin: improve the adhesive property of the material and blow evenly during demoulding.
3. The viscose water effect is not good: to improve the problem of TPE viscose water, PP should be used to treat the surface of the material first.
4. The wheel cover is not tight on the hub: the shrinkage rate of TPE material should be considered when opening the mold. The shrinkage rate of TPE material is generally 0.8~1.2%
