TPR is usually made into spherical particles, ellipsoidal particles and round bar-shaped bright transparent or white particles. TPR material has the characteristics of rubber and has good elasticity, rebound shrinkage, wear resistance and weather resistance. However, the processing method is simpler than that of rubber, and can be processed and produced by a common injection molding machine, and can also be used for toughening and modifying plastics, wrapping or compounding with PP, ABS and other materials for injection molding, so that vulcanization like rubber is not required, and the production efficiency is improved. In addition, TPR is a new type of environmentally friendly material, nontoxic and odorless, and can be recycled, which is a huge advantage over rubber. Compared with TPE, TPR has some disadvantages. To a certain extent, TPR is inferior to TPE in chemical resistance, weather resistance and hydrolysis resistance, which is why many higher-end products on the market are made of TPE materials instead of TPR. (1) The most fundamental reason is that TPE/TPR is non-standard composite material. This kind of material is not like common plastics such as ABS. Given a specified model index, the manufacturer can give a price, which usually does not fluctuate greatly. However, for non-standard composite materials, since there is no specified model (each manufacturer has its own definition, and the model is not common in the industry), it is difficult to give an accurate price at the beginning, and only a vague price such as 10-25 yuan 1kg can be given, and the price of special TPE/TPR materials ranges from 30 to 100 yuan 1kg, which is a large price range. ② Basic characteristics of ②TPE/TPR materials. This factor is related to the customer's own needs, and how much hardness, transparency, elasticity, wear resistance and so on (basic characteristics) the required materials reach. General TPE/TPR materials will consider the price according to these basic characteristics, and the price will vary with different formulations. (3) advanced material properties. This is based on whether the TPE/TPR materials required by customers need special properties, such as medical grade or food grade materials required by some customers. These materials can only be used after passing the food and drug testing standards. Therefore, the material selection and formula are good, and the price will also increase. This kind of materials also include flame retardant TPE materials. ④ Material specific gravity factor. TPE raw materials are black, natural color and transparent color (color masterbatch and toner need to be added to other colors). The proportion of raw materials in the three colors is different, and the price is also different. The higher the proportion, the lower the price, and the lower the price (usually the proportion is black > natural color > transparent color). In addition, there is also the case that the proportion of TPE raw materials increases due to the formula. (5) New and recycled materials. As we all know, TPE/TPR waste, scrap and old products can be regenerated into TPE/TPR materials, which become recycled materials and can also be used. But can this second-hand material be the same as the new one? Think about all know is different, although the price of second-hand materials is low, its performance is also greatly reduced. At present, the soles of many shoes on the market are made of TPR material, and good TPR sole material is wear-resistant and has good toughness, so that the shoes will wear well. The price of some shoes on a treasure is so low that the soles are worn out after wearing for one month. This TPR sole material is extremely poor, almost made of second-hand materials.
