Before, some customers asked TPE/TPR how hard it is to be the softest. The reply given by Xiao Bian was that it can be similar to tofu, such as some adult sex toys. But yesterday, a customer complained to me, now a product is made with 90 degree TPR, the hardness is soft, and asked me if I can achieve higher hardness. In view of the customer's doubt, Xiao Bian briefly explains the maximum hardness that TPE/TPR materials can do through this article. First of all, the general hardness of TPE/TPR is 30~80A, which can well explain the elastic characteristics of TPE and TPR. TPE|TPR with ultra-soft hardness shows more soft tactility of the material, but does not take the elastic properties of the material as the key consideration. Similarly, TPE|TPR material, which requires high hardness, pays no attention to the elasticity and soft touch of the material, but to the strength and certain flexibility of the material. As mentioned above, the customer still feels that the 90-degree TPR is not hard enough. The customer pays more attention to the strength of the material while trying to maintain certain TPR elastic characteristics to give the material certain flexibility characteristics. For such requirements, the blending system can be adjusted to meet customer requirements. For the customer case, Xiao bian communicated with the engineer and provided TPE|TPR with hardness of 110A(50~55D), which solved the customer's problem. At present, the highest hardness TPE can reach 120A, but the hardness of TPE and TPR is close to the hardness and characteristics of PE and PP, and hardly reflects the elastic characteristics. Summary: regarding the highest hardness that TPE/TPR can achieve, 110~120A is a limit. The higher the hardness, the higher the hardness of PE and PP, the material does not have elastic properties and cannot be called thermoplastic elastomer TPE,TPR TPR. The lowest hardness TPE,TPR preparation idea: oil and glue are the main components. The bigger the difference between the proportion of oil and glue, the softer the material. Theoretically, the hardness of TPE can be softer than tofu. The highest hardness TPE,TPR preparation ideas: resin and glue are the main components, with little oil. The greater the difference between the ratio of resin and glue, the harder the material. The limit is close to the hardness of polypropylene PP.
