Recently, I saw some netizens in the injection molding industry posting posts to inquire about the deformation of TPE (including the deformation of soft TPE and the deformation of hard PP and ABS plastic parts). The author, based on 5 years of experience in the TPE industry, would like to talk about his personal views. 1. Deformation of 1.TPE-coated soft rubber Cause analysis: due to over-high injection pressure and over-high injection speed, injection supersaturation will lead to similar extrusion deformation. The injection molding temperature is too high, the cooling is not in place, and the soft glue is deformed when being taken out of the mold; Countermeasures: Reduce the injection molding temperature appropriately, or extend the mold opening time, or adjust the crystallization speed of the material from the perspective of formula to speed up its cooling. 2. Deformation of 2.TPE Encapsulated Hard Adhesive (PP,ABS) Cause Analysis and Countermeasures: The thickness of hard rubber parts is relatively thin, and the TPE is deformed due to injection pressure during injection molding. Countermeasures-Reducing Injection Pressure Properly. The temperature of secondary injection molding is too high, resulting in softening and deformation of hard rubber parts; Countermeasures-Appropriate Reduction of Injection Molding Temperature. The glue level of hard glue is thin, the flow length of hard glue and soft glue is relatively large, the soft glue shrinks greatly after the glue is wrapped, and the shrinking force will pull and deform the hard glue and arch it. Countermeasures-strengthen the hard rubber parts, or change the position of the rubber inlet, reduce the flow length ratio of soft rubber and reduce shrinkage.
