With the rapid development of domestic economy, more and more international manufacturers have set up factories in China to produce TPE. The domestic thermoplastic elastomer TPE/TPR material industry is continuously developing and improving, and has been gradually used in all walks of life. The requirements for materials are becoming more and more strict, such as the research and development of special materials such as flame retardant, high elasticity, abrasion resistance, etc. With the continuous improvement of materials and products, the requirements of conductive TPE/TPR materials are also the inevitable result of market development. With the development of the market, the thermoplastic elastomer industry will become more and more colorful, providing better and more comfortable materials for people's lives. Before talking about the conductive TPE/TPR, we should first understand the conductive rubber from the side and then evaluate the technical difficulty of the research and development of the conductive TPE/TPR. Conductive rubber: conductive rubber is to evenly distribute conductive particles such as glass silver plating, aluminum silver plating, silver and the like in rubber (generally silicone rubber), and contact the conductive particles through pressure to achieve good conductive performance, which is applied in military and commercial fields. Its main functions are sealing and electromagnetic shielding. The products can be molded or extruded, and there are pieces or other punching shapes to choose from. Conductive principle of conductive rubber: conductive particles filled in conductive rubber contact each other when filled with a certain volume fraction to form an electronic continuous state, thus having conductivity. Conductive rubber must be subjected to a certain compressive force to conduct electricity well, and the structural design must ensure appropriate pressure but not excessive pressure. Conductive rubber is mainly used for sealing and electromagnetic shielding. It is commonly used in some electronic components and has important applications in aerospace and military industries. Then analyze the conductivity of TPE. According to the surface resistance value of the material, TPE can be divided into the following three classes in terms of dielectric property: (1) insulation TPE/TPR when the surface resistance of the product reaches 10 to the 13th power; 2. Antistatic TPE/TPR is used when the surface resistance of the product reaches 10 to the power of 5-12; 3. When the surface resistance of the product reaches 10 to the fifth power, it is TPE/TPR of conductive grade. According to the above division, there are still some differences between antistatic TPE and conductive TPE. Common TPE/TPR are all antistatic materials. As far as anti-static is concerned, in actual cases, the surface resistance values of products required by different customers may be different, and sometimes there may be certain restrictive requirements on the blending system of TPE. To make TPE/TPR conductive, special material modification is required. TPE/TPR has a molecular chain structure with a certain degree of similarity with rubber. According to the above ideas of rubber modification, TPE/TPR seems to be imitated. However, the similarities and differences between TPE blending system and silicone rubber should be fully considered. The blending system of TPE is relatively complex, and the compatibility of phase separation structures of various components, the uniformity of blending and dispersion, etc. need to be considered. The above is the difference between antistatic TPE and conductive TPE materials, hoping to help everyone.
