Blow molding grade TPE raw materials
Thermoplastic Elastomer TPE Blow Molding Process
1. Injection blow molding process: The injection blow molding process is to form a tubular parison from molten plastic in an injection mold of an injection machine, leave the tube blank on a core lock after opening the mold, close the blow mold while it is hot, introduce 0.2-0.7 MPa of compressed air from an air passage arranged in the core lock, blow the parison into the shape of a mold cavity, and finally cool and demold under a pressure maintaining condition to obtain a product.
2. Extrusion blow molding process: The process of extrusion blow molding is to clamp the tubular parison extruded by the extruder into the blow mold while it is hot, then to inject 0.20-0.69 MPa of compressed air into the parison from the air passage of the blow mold to blow the tube blank into the shape of the mold cavity, and finally to obtain the product after cooling and demolding under the pressure maintaining condition.
3. stretch blow molding process: stretch blow molding process includes injection parison directional stretch blow molding and extrusion parison directional stretch blow molding. The technological process of directional stretch blow molding of injection parison is as follows: first inject the parison with bottom, then heat it to the appropriate stretching temperature, put it into blow molding die and stretch it axially with the help of stretching rod, the stretching ratio is 1-2 times, at the same time, introduce compressed air to blow up the parison that has been stretched axially, cool and demould to obtain the product.
4. Multi-layer blow molding process: Multi-layer blow molding is a process developed on the basis of injection blow molding and extrusion blow molding, except that the wall of its products changes from single layer to multi-layer.
5. Large-scale blow molding process: The key technologies of large-scale blow molding process are: forming parison at high speed and controlling wall thickness uniformity to reduce deformation of container. This requires uniform temperature control of parison and mold design must be conducive to demoulding.
6. Process control factors: The main process factors affecting blow molding and product quality are: parison temperature, mold temperature, cooling time, blowing rate, blow molding air pressure and blowing ratio.
Common blow molding materials are mainly PP, PE and PPO. Blow molding of soft TPE materials requires higher melt strength of rubber materials, not any TPE brand can be blow molded.
