Imitation silica gel TPE raw material

Which is softer, thermoplastic elastomer TPE or silica gel? Which feels good? Which is safer, TPE or silica gel? These are the questions that our salespeople often encounter when consulting customers. TPE material manufacturers have also developed alternative silica gel materials. Can TPE completely replace silica gel? TPE has many similar material characteristics to silica gel. So many TPE salespeople said how good TPE is and what shortcomings silica gel has. Admittedly, TPE is easy to process and recyclable. This silica gel is good, but some advantages of silica gel are beyond TPE's reach. Today, I am also engaged in TPE sales. I will analyze the following taboos that should be paid attention to if TPE is used instead of silica gel. 1. High temperature resistance. TPE(SEBS substrate) generally has a temperature resistance of 70-100 degrees, while silica gel has a temperature resistance of 250 degrees. If the guest requires a temperature tolerance of more than 100 degrees or even more than 200 degrees, TPE should not be used instead. 2. Food grade. TPE can also be said to be a food grade material, but it depends on the test grade and method. If the guest has requested LFGB and FDA 21CFR177.2600, and the material hardness is required below 60' 70 degrees, TPE is best not to replace silica gel. 3.100% resilience. Silica gel is a cross-linked material. TPE is thermoplastic. No matter how elastic TPE is, there is stress relaxation. If the customer's product is to rebound 100%, it is necessary to carefully replace the potential problems with TPE. 4. Soft products. For products with hardness lower than 35 degrees, if TPE is used instead of silica gel, the surface dryness of the products should be considered. TPE30 is less than 30 degrees and dry than silica gel. As far as the current industry technology is concerned, it may not be suitable for some beauty and skin care devices! For TPE replacing silica gel, the above are some major problems. But in more cases, TPE can replace silica gel. The cost is relatively low, and the materials can be recycled repeatedly. In many cases, TPE is the only choice to replace silica gel. Both silica gel and thermoplastic elastomer TPE have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you are not familiar with the two, you can tell us your products and their application scenarios, and we will provide you with perfect application solutions.
