As a relatively new member of thermoplastic engineering plastics, thermoplastic polyester elastomer TPEE perfectly combines the elasticity of rubber, the strength of engineering plastics and the processing characteristics of thermoplastic. Different from traditional elastomer TPE, polyester elastomer TPEE has three main characteristics: (1) outstanding physical and chemical properties: amazing resilience, outstanding toughness and strength. It has extremely high resistance to creep, impact and flexural fatigue. Polyester elastomers can resist nonpolar solvents (oil, fuel oil, hydraulic oil), polar solvents at room temperature (ethylene glycol, high molecular weight ethanol, weak acids and weak bases). TPEE can be used repeatedly.
TPEE has the elasticity of rubber and the strength of engineering plastics. Compared with rubber, TPEE has better processability and longer service life. Compared with engineering plastics, it also has the characteristics of high strength, better flexibility and dynamic mechanical properties. TPEE has wide hardness range, high structural strength, good elasticity, impact resistance and bending resistance. TPEE is easy to process, has good melting fluidity, stable melting state, low shrinkage rate and fast crystallization speed. For most purposes, TPEE can be used directly. If there are special requirements, corresponding additives can be added to meet the requirements. TPEE is mainly used in fields requiring shock absorption, impact resistance, bending resistance, sealing and elasticity, oil resistance, chemical resistance and sufficient strength. For example, polymer modification, automobile parts, flexible telephone cords, hydraulic hoses, shoe materials, transmission belts, rotational moulding tires, gears, flexible coupling joints, silencing gears, elevator slideways, corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant and high and low temperature resistant materials in chemical equipment pipeline valves, etc.
