What is TPR? TPR material is called thermoplastic elastomer by many netizens. Such elastomer mainly refers to styrene elastomer SBS and SEBS modified materials. For easy distinction, TPR material suppliers will call TPR the elastomer material modified by SBS substrate and TPE the material modified by SEBS, but in fact TPE is a broad concept. TPU, TPV, TPE and TPO can all be called TPE thermoplastic materials except the materials modified by styrene elastomer SEBS and SBS.
TPR material has general rubber elasticity and good wear resistance. Its chemical properties are as follows: weathering resistance and aging resistance are general, temperature resistance-50 ~ 90℃, slip resistance and impact resistance are good, but soft comfort is better than rubber. In addition, TPR material is not as good as vulcanized rubber in tensile strength, fatigue resistance and mechanical properties.
TPR material can adjust hardness in the range of Shore hardness of 5-100 degrees, and SBS is used as the modified material of the base material. TPE material based on SEBS can be adjusted to lower hardness.
TPR material, adhesive, ink, etc. have good adhesive performance and good oil spray silk screen printing processing performance.
TPR material is used as an environment-friendly raw material, and is mainly detected by plasticizers phthalate esters, nonylphenol NP and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons PAHs, and meets the environment-friendly detection standards of ROHS, REACH, EN71-3 and ASTMF963. The biggest disadvantage of TPR is that the temperature range is only -50℃ to 90℃.
TPR is widely used due to its unique characteristics. Widely used in soft rubber toys, sporting goods, shoes, stationery, hardware, electrical tools, communications, electronic products, household appliances, kitchen supplies, automobiles, construction projects, cables and other fields.
