When summer comes, how to deal with TPE/TPR lumps

Some customers told us that the higher the temperature recently, the more obvious the tendency of TPE/TPR particles to agglomerate. When using TPE and TPR compound, they have more or less encountered the problem of particle agglomeration. However, after the products are processed, packaged and stored, they will also stick together. TPE particles agglomerate and the particles stand together. Especially now is a hot summer, the probability of caking will be many, transparent material caking is a common problem, even not transparent material also appeared caking problem.
TPE manufacturer reason analysis;
1. High oil filling ratio; Sometimes, in order to produce ultra-soft and hard products, it is necessary to have a sufficient proportion of oil in the SEBS/SBS blending system. However, the oil itself is viscous, and the larger the proportion of oil, the greater the possibility of its precipitation (oil spitting), resulting in agglomeration of transparent particles.
2. Inadequate cooling of particles, high temperature, and large viscosity of oil in the blending system result in adhesion of particles. Therefore, caking is more likely to occur in summer.
Resolution:
1. After granulation, the fire-proof TPE particles are cooled sufficiently. It is suggested that the surface temperature of particles should be below 30℃ before packaging.
2. Add functional additives to weaken the surface adhesion between the particles and enhance the smoothness of the surface of TPEE particles, especially for ultra-soft TPE/TPR transparent materials.
Note:
1. During injection molding production, if TPE lumps are serious and manual separation takes time, which affects the production situation, all lumped materials can be broken into small lumps with a crusher to facilitate blanking.
2. The particle agglomeration problem that may occur in transparent TPR materials can be improved by adding a certain anti-blocking agent before the particles are packaged.
3. When TPR products (such as toys) are exported to foreign countries, attention should be paid to the possible container temperature during cargo transportation (the container temperature will gradually rise due to heat accumulation during cargo transportation, sometimes reaching 60~70℃). Anticipated preventive measures should be taken, and thermal insulation cabinets can be used if necessary.
4. In hot summer, TPE/TPR injection molding factory should pay attention to store the material particles (especially TPR transparent materials) in a cool place, and air conditioning can be set up if conditions permit. For the products (especially TPR materials) produced, each finished product of flame retardant TPE should not be directly contacted with the packaging for storage as far as possible, and should not be overstocked for storage, so as not to affect the product quality due to adhesion.
