How to Solve Surface Stickiness of TPE Raw Material Products

In summer, many users will encounter such problems, because the temperature in summer is too high, if it is not stored well, sticking is essential. In case of such problems, many users do not know how to solve them, so let's find out what causes TPE handle material sticking. 1. Excessive amount of slip agent A small amount of surface slip agent will be added into the blending system of TPE manufacturers, which can improve the smooth hand feel of materials or products. However, if the added amount exceeds a certain limit, the excess slip agent will appear (migrate) on the surface of the material or product, which will feel sticky and seriously affect the product quality. How to Resolve: When making TPE products, smooth hand feeling on the surface is a good thing. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the amount of additives and grasp the appropriate measures. Otherwise, things will turn against each other. Originally, we hoped to achieve a smooth hand feel, but at last, we found undesirable results such as sticky products. 2, forming temperature is too high Compared with resin, the surface of soft thermoplastic elastomer is more prone to sticky phenomenon. Reason: It is mainly caused by the migration of low molecular weight polymers, plasticizers and stabilizers generated by aging to the surface. However, no matter what kind of situation it is, the substances related to it can be easily determined by analyzing the sticky components by using infrared spectroscopy (IR) and other analysis methods. Stickiness is mainly caused by high molding temperature and low relative molecular mass substances formed by thermal decomposition of polymers. Although the set temperature of the molding machine itself does not reach the thermal decomposition temperature, shear heat generation in the molding process sometimes causes it to temporarily reach a high temperature. How to solve the problem: TPE manufacturers are very effective in reducing the molding temperature, reducing shearing, and purifying the inside of the hydraulic cylinder of the molding machine with nitrogen. In addition, when the molding machine is stopped, the rubber material is left in the mold cavity of the molding machine in a molten state for a long time, and sometimes becomes sticky due to thermal aging. In addition, products used at high temperatures are prone to sticking. Therefore, the selection of stabilizer and softener types and the determination of dosage are very important.
